Buyers from Japan often ask about hot-water treatment, because Japan is one of the countries that have historically required it. Our packhouse runs 48°C for 60–90 minutes with a plant-protection witness. That fact does not create a Japanese import program, just as it does not create an Australian or a New Zealand program, and just as it does not replace irradiation for the United States.

We can explain treatment, variety, and season. We will not quote a Japan sea program or a Japan air program. March is also the Sindhri booking close, so a Japanese buyer who actually wanted UK or Gulf fruit should say that. Do not let the city of the meeting pick the destination.
Rice
A rice enquiry can be heard. It becomes a proforma only when the buyer, the grade, and the port are real. We will not print “Japan basmati program” on the strength of a fair. The mill is in Punjab. We do not own it.
What treatment does not unlock
Australia, New Zealand, and Japan stay off the desk list. USA fruit still flies via Dubai irradiation. Canada via Dubai is a different sentence. Wheat grain stays closed even if a Japanese mill asks politely.
If you still want the hour
Book it. A clear no in Tokyo is cheaper than a confused proforma later. Bring the import condition your authorities actually publish, in writing. We will compare it with what we can pack. If the gap is a document we do not hold, we will say so.
