A claim opens
within 48 hours.
Discharge starts the export clock. Photos, the seal, and the temperature file are the evidence. We do not promise a credit before that file exists.
Export quality is judged at the destination port within 48 hours of discharge. That is the refund-policy rule, and it is the rule this page explains. Write to the exports desk with the container number, the seal number, photographs, and, on a reefer or an air cold-chain lot, the temperature-logger file. Appoint your own surveyor if the loss is large. We do not employ that surveyor.
A credit note, a replacement, or a rejection is a decision after that file, not a sentence we put in the first reply. Marine insurance on a CIF lot pays what the policy pays. It is not an automatic quality guarantee. The enquiry form on this website is not the claims channel. Use the phone, WhatsApp, or exports@zarkaaragri.com.
What the first message must contain
A complete first message is faster than five partial ones.
- Container or air-waybill number, seal number, and the date and port of discharge.
- Photographs of the seal before it is cut, then of the doors, then of the damaged or warm cargo. Do not send only a retail shelf.
- Logger file on mango and onion. Mango was set at 8–12°C. Onion was set at 0–4°C. A file that starts halfway across the ocean is a weaker file.
- Whether any cartons have already been sold or destroyed. Fruit that has been distributed is not the same evidence as fruit still in the box.
What each crop can honestly claim
The specification is the benchmark. A wish is not.
Mango
Heat damage, a broken cold chain, or a count shortage against the packing list. Variety complaints are tested against the variety that was booked. Hot-water treatment does not make fruit immune to a warm truck after arrival. USA sea mango is not a claim path, because we do not ship it. A USA air claim still needs the 48-hour file.
Onion
Sprouting, decay, or a size band outside 60–80 mm red or 50–70 mm white, measured on the arrival sample, not on one photograph of one bulb. Saudi onion was ask-first. If we did not confirm Jeddah, there is no Saudi onion claim to open.
Rice, corn, and cotton
Test against the lab sheet: rice moisture and broken grain, corn moisture 13–14 percent and broken kernels, aflatoxin against the destination limit, cotton staple against 26 mm or 28 mm as contracted. A sheet does not get rewritten after arrival to upgrade a grade. Weight claims use the survey, not a supermarket scale.
The claim we will close without debate
A domestic bag of DAP, urea, seed, or feed, brought back to a story about a container. That claim is the counter, within 7 days, seal intact. A wheat-grain complaint, because there was no wheat-grain shipment. A request to hide a short payment from the bank. If the value changes, the credit note has to be something the authorised dealer can read.
We do not publish a logger brand. If your insurer requires one, name it before the season, on the pre-book, not in the claim.
