The credit can only ask
for papers we issue.
First-season buyers pay by T/T. A sight credit, or 30-day documents against acceptance, comes after two seasons. Send the draft before the bank advises it.
Zarkaar can ship against a sight letter of credit, or against 30-day documents against acceptance, when you have bought for two seasons. A new buyer pays 50 percent by telegraphic transfer and 50 percent against documents. We do not open the first season on a credit we have not checked, and we do not offer open account.
Send the draft credit before your bank advises it. Discrepancies are expensive, and most of them are clauses copied from another commodity. If we cannot sign a document, we will say so while the draft can still be amended. We will not “fix it” after the ship has sailed.
Papers a clean credit can call for
This is the set we can produce when the lot is one we actually ship. Your credit should not ask for the whole menu on every crop.
- Commercial invoice and packing list, matching the declaration and the marks.
- Bill of lading or the air waybill, consigned as the credit says.
- Phytosanitary certificate for the crop. Not for wheat grain, because that cargo is not shipped.
- Halal certificate on Gulf and Saudi food lots, per consignment, from an approved Pakistani body. The number is not published on this site.
- Karachi Chamber certificate of origin, per consignment.
- Hot-water log for mango. Fumigation certificate and lab sheet for rice, corn, and cotton. Insurance certificate only when the term is CIF.
Clauses we send back
Each one looks harmless in a template. Each one stalls a negotiation.
Documents we do not hold
A published TDAP membership number, a scanned dealer letter, an organic certificate, a Fairtrade mark, a GlobalG.A.P. certificate, or an embassy legalization we have not agreed in writing. If your market truly requires legalization, raise it before the credit. It is a lead-time item, not a surprise at the bank counter.
Cargo we will not describe
Sea mango to the USA. Wheat grain. Yarn described as lint. IRRI described as basmati. Onion to Saudi presented as if it were already on the desk list. A credit that contains those words does not get a compliant set, because we will not create the goods to match the words.
Dates that fight the calendar
A latest-shipment date after the Sindhri window, or a Chaunsa date written in January with no pre-book, will be queried. The 20 percent season deposit holds volume. It does not replace the credit, and it does not cure a late latest-shipment date.
30-day documents against acceptance
This is not open account. Documents move through the banks, and the acceptance is 30 days. It is offered to buyers with two seasons behind them, on a proforma that says so. It is still inside the State Bank outer clock: the contractual due date or 120 days from shipment, whichever is earlier.
We do not name our bank on this page. The invoice pack names the account for that lot.
