How this market actually buys

Major Halal-mandatory market. We hold the required Halal certifications for all consignments. Rice volumes are largest during Ramadan run-up.

Every KSA consignment ships Halal — not “on request.” Rice volumes spike six to eight weeks before Ramadan; book IRRI-6 and basmati before that rush. Mango is Jeddah and Riyadh retail plus catering. SASO paperwork for retail-pack rice is raised with the private-label artwork, not after the container is stuffed.

Jeddah and Dammam

Sea cargo discharges at Jeddah or Dammam. Riyadh and Madinah are inland cities on the buyer side. We do not describe them as load ports.

Onion is not on this desk’s commodity list. Ask before you book a Jeddah onion. We will not add it because the UAE page carries onion.

Ramadan rice

Rice volumes rise six to eight weeks before Ramadan. Book IRRI-6 and basmati before that rush. Halal is on every Saudi lot, not on request.

SASO retail rice

Retail packs need SASO paperwork raised with the artwork, before the container is stuffed. Send the pack design with the enquiry. We do not print first and ask second.

Programme and lead times

A confirmed order plans at 14 days to sea dispatch, or 5 days for air. Spot space depends on the vessel. A weekly sailing is not a promise on every line.

Mango on this desk is May through September. Rice moves year-round from stored lots. The new-crop conversation is October through February. Onion is not a standing line on this desk.

Compliance and quality

Lots for Saudi Arabia leave with the papers that commodity uses: phytosanitary where the crop needs it, Halal on food, KCCI origin, and the treatment or lab sheet for that product. Mango hot water is 48°C for 60–90 minutes. Grain fumigation is the contractor certificate. The document pack goes out before the bill of lading. Your broker files the destination entry. Zarkaar is not the importer of record.
