The year has gates.
A crop misses them on purpose.
Use this page to plan the enquiry. Use the commodity page to buy. Wheat grain is on the calendar only as a refusal.
Zarkaar sells five export crops on a live basis: mango, rice, corn, cotton, and onion. Each one has a different clock. This page puts the clocks in one place so a buyer does not ask for Chaunsa in January or for cured onion in July. It does not replace the variety pages, and it does not add a country.
Booking for mango opens on 1 January. A 20 percent deposit holds volume. It does not lock freight unless the proforma says so. Spot fruit from mid-May is about 15–25 percent above contracted volume. Wheat grain stays off every month while the export ban holds.
Mango, month by month
The fruit and the booking are different dates. Missing the booking date is how buyers end up on the spot market.
January to April, paper season
Sindhri volume closes in mid-March. Chaunsa volume closes at the end of April. Fruit is not on the water yet. Fruit Logistica in early February and Gulfood in March sit inside this paper season. Macfrut in late April is the last Chaunsa booking week.
May to September, fruit season
Sindhri ships around May and June, from Mirpur Khas, sourced. Chaunsa ships from late June into August, from the Multan family orchards and the Shujabad belt. White Chaunsa runs into September from Multan and Nawabpur. A full sea reefer is about 4,800 cartons. Air and LCL start near 500.
What never opens
Sea mango to the USA. Hot-water treatment does not reopen it. October “mango” in Europe is a review meeting, not a container of Chaunsa.
Onion, rice, corn, and cotton
Four clocks. None of them is the mango calendar with a new noun.
Onion
November through March, after a 7–10 day cure, at 0–4°C. Red 60–80 mm, white 50–70 mm, Sindh and Balochistan. October shows are for the forward book. A March show is the tail, not a promise of April bulbs.
Rice
Milled rice ships year-round. Basmati, Super Kernel, and 1121 are not waiting on a festival date. IRRI bulk starts at 5,000 metric tons. New-crop conversation with the mill is welcome. We do not print a harvest festival as if we ran one. Ramadan retail for Saudi needs six to eight weeks, and SASO before stuffing.
Corn
Feed and food grain ship from stored and new lots. A container is about 27 metric tons. Bulk starts at 5,000 metric tons. We do not print a sowing date and call it a shipping date. Moisture on the feed sheet is 13–14 percent whenever the lot moves.
Cotton
Lint is priced against New York futures plus the Pakistan basis during the ginning season. We do not freeze a cents number here. The 26 mm bale is the workhorse. China is the 28 mm program. Yarn follows the count, not the ginning festival.
Domestic calendars are a different door
Rabi and kharif at the Multan counter are fertiliser, tagged seed, and feed for farmers. They have their own meeting pages. A wheat-seed booking in November is not a wheat-grain export. Toori stays within about 50 km. The export calendar does not move straw.
Trade shows that fall on these dates are listed under events. A show does not move a closing date. Sindhri still closes in mid-March even if a fair runs the week after.
