Pre-cool in Multan.
Hold it to the gate.
The inland reefer is the road from the packhouse to Karachi or to the airport. The ship, if there is a ship, is a second booking with its own page.
Perishable Zarkaar cargo is brought to temperature in Multan before it sees the port. Mango is pre-cooled after hot-water treatment and held at 8–12°C. Onion is cured for 7–10 days and held at 0–4°C. The inland vehicle is a reefer truck on that setting. A dry truck with the vent cracked is not a substitute.
This road is not the ocean reefer page. A full mango sea reefer is about 4,800 cartons once it is on the ship. The truck’s job is to deliver that pulp temperature intact to the stuffing gate. We do not print a fixed hour count for the drive. Traffic decides the clock. The proforma names the loading day.
The sequence for mango
Skip a step and the logger on the ship has nothing honest to record.
- Pack at the packhouse after the variety is graded. Private-label boards still need the 60-day artwork rule when the carton is yours.
- Hot water at 48°C for 60–90 minutes, witnessed by the plant-protection officer. This does not replace USA irradiation and does not reopen USA sea.
- Pre-cool, then the inland reefer at 8–12°C to the port or the airport.
- Stuffing into the sea reefer, or handover to the air line. The ocean page covers the ship. The Dubai irradiation page covers the USA hop.
Onion is a colder, slower chain
Cure first, for 7–10 days. Then 0–4°C. A mango set-point would wake the bulbs. A shared booking is refused even when both buyers sit in the same city. Mesh weights are 10, 20, or 25 kg, and a full onion reefer is about 25 metric tons.
Saudi onion remains ask-first. A cold truck to Karachi does not create a Jeddah onion program.
Air cargo still needs the cold road
USA mango flies after Dubai irradiation, about 7–10 days to JFK, LAX, or ORD, in lots that start near 500 cartons. The fruit is still pre-cooled in Multan and ridden cold to the airport that starts the hop. Canada air via Dubai is not that irradiation step, and it is still not a warm truck.
UK air for Sindhri and Ratol is quoted at 3–5 days. The same Multan pre-cool applies. We do not publish a logger brand. If your insurer names a brand, say so before the season deposit, not on the morning of loading.
