Workhorse white long-grain. Industrial catering and humanitarian programs.

IRRI-9 is the long-grain white name for catering and institutional programs. Confirm parboiled or white before the mill run, even though the grade is known as white.

White long grain, confirmed in writing

IRRI-9 is the non-aromatic long-grain white book: catering, some institutional supply, and the Yemen and Africa notes. It cooks faster than parboiled IRRI-6. The variety line still asks you to confirm parboiled versus white before the run is locked, because a silent default is how the wrong pot of rice arrives.

Moisture max 14 percent. Broken grain stays the commodity spec on the lab sheet. Do not apply the basmati 4 percent slogan to this grade, and do not sell it as aromatic.

How it ships

Bags are 25 kg or 50 kg, or a bulk stem from about 5,000 metric tons. Container plans match the other grades: about 24 metric tons in a 20-foot box and about 27 in a 40-foot box. Fumigation is the contractor certificate at bag stage. Phytosanitary, Halal, KCCI origin, and the lab sheet are the Pakistan pack.

This is not a UK or Canada basmati desk. Those desks want aroma. If the buyer is a diaspora retailer, send them to basmati or Super Kernel before you print an IRRI-9 bag with a basmati photograph.

Where this grade is named

Published markets and grade notes: Africa, Yemen. A country without a desk starts as an enquiry. It is not an automatic second page.

Papers

Phytosanitary, fumigation, Halal, KCCI origin, and the lab sheet for moisture, broken grain, and length travel with the lot. FOB Karachi is the default. CFR is ocean freight to a named port. Insurance is CIF at cost. The process page is sella versus white. The brokens page is why a container of 100 percent brokens is not this product.

FAQ

IRRI-9 · Quick answers

What is IRRI-9?

IRRI-9 / Long-grain white: Workhorse white long-grain. Industrial catering and humanitarian programs. Moisture is max 14 percent. Broken grain is commodity spec on the lab sheet, not a second product.

Which markets take IRRI-9?

Published markets and grade notes: Africa, Yemen. The six buyer desks are UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UK, the USA, and Canada. Iraq, Yemen, Kenya, and Tanzania are grade or lane notes, not new country pages.

What is the minimum container?

IRRI-9 follows the same container plan as the other grades: about 24 metric tons in a 20-foot box and about 27 in a 40-foot box. Bulk still starts near 5,000 metric tons. It is not a UK basmati minimum and not a 5 metric ton offer.

Can the bag be our brand?

If the buyer is a diaspora retailer, stop and send them to basmati or Super Kernel. An IRRI-9 bag with a basmati photograph is the wrong product. Institutional packs are 25 kg or 50 kg. Confirm white versus parboiled before the artwork is approved.

Is this new crop or old crop?

October to February is the post-harvest conversation for the lot, not a promise that IRRI-9 suddenly becomes aromatic with age. Old crop and new crop stay different sheets. No ageing certificate.
