CFR is freight to a named port.
It is not delivered duty paid.
Say the discharge port. Jebel Ali is not the city of Dubai. Jeddah is not Riyadh. Insurance is a CIF conversation.
FOB Karachi is the default Zarkaar term. CFR means cost and freight: the cargo and the ocean freight to the discharge port you name. Marine insurance is not inside CFR. If you want freight and insurance together, ask for CIF, and those two figures are shown at cost, separately.
Duty, VAT, the destination terminal, your broker, and any truck after discharge stay with you. Zarkaar is not the importer of record and does not offer DDP. A show city is not the port on the bill of lading.
Write the port, not the country
The freight rate is for a terminal. A country name does not book a ship.
Gulf
UAE freight is to Jebel Ali unless the proforma names another terminal. Saudi freight is Jeddah or Dammam. Riyadh is not a seaport. Qatar uses the port the booking names, often Hamad. Onion to Saudi is still ask-first even if the term is CFR.
Further desks
UK sea is a named British port, not the word London as a guess. USA mango does not go CFR by sea. That fruit is air via Dubai irradiation. Canada air via Dubai is a different sentence from the USA irradiation step.
What CFR does not change
The grade, the pack, and the document pack stay the same. A CFR offer is still indicative for 7 days. It does not lock a later sailing at the same freight unless the proforma says the freight is fixed.
Destination charges are explained on their own page. Read that before you compare a CFR number from one shipper with an FOB number from another.
