Ramadan rice
is a six-week decision.
Book IRRI-6 and basmati six to eight weeks before Ramadan. Retail packs still need SASO first.
Rice volumes into Saudi Arabia rise six to eight weeks before Ramadan. Zarkaar asks buyers to book IRRI-6 and basmati before that rush. Halal is on every lot, not on request.
A retail pack still needs SASO paperwork with the artwork before stuffing. A late design misses the window even when the grain is in the mill. Discharge is Jeddah or Dammam. Riyadh demand is real. Riyadh is not a load port.
Which bag belongs in the rush
The month does not upgrade the grain.
Basmati and Super Kernel
Premium retail and diaspora packs. Private label is 5, 10, and 25 kg at about 25 metric tons. Artwork has to be finished before the six-week clock, not during it.
IRRI-6
The volume staple for catering and commodity programs. It can be parboiled or white. Say which. It must not wear a basmati label.
What this calendar does not move
Mango is a summer fruit program and is not “Ramadan rice.” Onion is not on the Saudi commodity list. Wheat grain stays closed. A Ramadan enquiry for those cargos gets a different answer, or a refusal.
The Ramadan file, six to eight weeks out
Name IRRI-6 or basmati, and write parboiled or white before the mill run. IRRI broken grain is the commodity spec on the lab sheet, not the 4 percent basmati ceiling. Retail bags need the artwork in the SASO file before stuffing. Halal is not optional on a Saudi lot.
Pick Jeddah or Dammam. A 20-foot box is about 24 metric tons and a 40-foot box about 27. There is no published 5 metric ton minimum. Mango is a different season and a different temperature. Do not ask the Ramadan rice booking to carry fruit or a Jeddah onion that the Saudi desk does not list.
