The reefer temperature
follows the crop.
Mango holds around 8–12°C. Onion holds at 0–4°C after a 7–10 day cure. They do not share a booking.
Mango is pre-cooled toward 8–12°C and the reefer holds that band. Onion is cured for 7–10 days and rides at 0–4°C. A 40-foot onion reefer holds about 25 metric tons. A mango reefer holds about 4,800 cartons, 19–20 metric tons.
Rice and onion do not share a temperature plan, so they do not share a casual booking. Corn and cotton are not reefer fruit. A Gulf winter onion program and a summer mango program can use the same shipper. They cannot use the same set-point.
Mango reefers
Hot water at 48°C happens before pre-cooling. The reefer does not replace the bath. UAE sea is about five days. Saudi sea on the spec sheet is 12–14 days. UK sea Chaunsa is quoted around 21 days. USA fruit does not go in a sea reefer.
Onion reefers
The winter window is November to March, when Gulf supply runs short. Red bulbs are 60–80 mm. White bulbs are 50–70 mm and milder. Mesh bags are 10, 20, and 25 kg. Origin is Sindh and Balochistan. The Saudi desk does not list onion. Ask before Jeddah.
Set the temperature to the crop
A mango reefer holds 8–12°C after hot water at 48°C for 60–90 minutes. A full mango box is about 4,800 cartons of 4 kg, roughly 19–20 metric tons. An onion reefer holds 0–4°C after a 7–10 day cure, about 25 metric tons, and only from November to March. Rice is a dry container. It does not borrow either set-point.
UAE sea mango is about five days. UK sea Chaunsa is about 21 days. Writing one temperature for a mixed box is how a claim starts. Name the crop, the port, and the week. October does not load mango. Onion in October is a forward book, not a sailing.
