Cotton, rice, and maize do not share a sowing day. Buy the bag for the crop you are actually planting.
Kharif at this counter splits into three buys. Cotton seed goes in from mid-April to mid-May. Rice nurseries start in May and transplant in June. Autumn maize goes in during July and August.
A single “kharif package” that hides the crop is how the wrong bag leaves the warehouse. Name the crop in the first message.
Cotton
Buy a tagged Bollgard II hybrid that is in the building. Later sowing walks into pink bollworm and a short season. Phosphate goes at sowing. Split the urea. Boron is for fruit set and is ordered, not assumed.
Vehari, Mailsi, Burewala, and Bahawalpur are the cotton names we hear most. The seed still leaves Multan. Lint export is a different desk and a different month.
Rice and maize
Keep the rice line pure. Super Basmati and an IRRI coarse line do not belong in one nursery if you care what the mill pays. Zinc on basmati is a real deficiency in Punjab. It shows up as khaira. It is not optional on that crop. The rice fertiliser note says what October is actually for.
Maize hybrids for Sahiwal, Pakpattan, and Vehari are spring or autumn. Dry the grain. Feed-grade corn for export is not this seed bag.
The orchard beside the field
Mango is not sown in kharif, but the orchard spends money then. Zinc and boron at fruit set, urea after harvest, and no flood irrigation at ripening. Chaunsa growers in Multan and Shujabad use the mango guide, then the granular urea page.
