Maize Seed.

Hybrid maize seed for autumn and spring crops. Yellow corn for feed and food, white maize for human consumption.

Why this seed is tagged

Maize seed here is a current hybrid. Yellow is for feed. White is for people. Farm-saved F2 yields like a different crop. The tag is the reason to buy the bag instead of keeping last year’s grain.

When to sow

Hybrid maize is February–March or July–August. October maize is harvest and drying below 14 percent moisture, not a new seed order and not a fertiliser top-dress. Do not plant export grain and call it seed.

What we stock this season

Maize in Punjab is two crops: a spring sowing in February–March and an autumn sowing in July–August. Yellow hybrids go to feed mills and starch; white hybrids go to human consumption. We stock current-season hybrid lots — not farm-saved F2, which yields like a different crop. Aflatoxin starts in the field: harvest moisture and drying matter as much as the bag you plant. We will not sell you a hybrid that is out of its window for your district.

• Yellow hybrid (feed / starch)
• White hybrid (human consumption)
• Spring short-duration hybrids

Yellow and white hybrids are confirmed separately. Send the tehsil and whether the grain is for feed or for people. A farm-saved bag will not be written up as certified hybrid.

Seed rate

Hybrid maize is about 8–10 kg per acre, with plants about 20–25 cm apart on 75 cm rows. That rate is seed, not a grain-export minimum.

Pickup
